Tatjana Hamovic

Speech-Language Pathologist

Tatjana graduated as a Speech-Language Pathologist from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 2000. She worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with preschool and school-aged children with various communication disorders, including language disorders, speech sound disorders, stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental delays. Tatjana is fully registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia, and she is a member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada.

Since moving to Canada in 2014, she has been working in the AAC field as an SLP Assistant with Communication Assistance for Youth and Adults (CAYA) in Vancouver while working towards her credential recognition as an SLP in Canada. She provided support to adults with complex communication needs to maintain their independent communication through AAC implementation and training. Tatjana completed various training programs in the AAC field, including Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), Talking Mats, and Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA) and became a Certified TouchChat trainer.

Tatjana is Hanen Certified for the programs "It Takes Two to Talk" and "More Than Words." She completed the Lidcombe program for treating stuttering in preschool children. She is particularly interested in supporting children with delays in speech and language development, autism spectrum disorders and stuttering helping them achieve their full potential through collaboration with their families.
