Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Rachel is a fourth-year student at the University of British Columbia, majoring in Speech Sciences and minoring in Early Childhood Education. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Rachel plans to apply for a Masters of Science and pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology. Rachel has experience working with children with ASD as a behavioural interventionist and with articulation disorders and speech delays as an SLP Assistant. While working with people of diverse backgrounds, Rachel has developed a passion for making positive impacts in people’s lives by fostering a holistic environment for individuals to practice their communication skills. She aims to continue helping others in her community.
In her spare time, Rachel directs the UBC branch of a non-profit organization called YNOTFORTOTS as the Co-President. This organization aims to alleviate child poverty within the Lower Mainland. Along with her philanthropic efforts, she enjoys hiking, baking, skiing, and exploring new places.
